About the duties of a security officer.
We are often rushed about the functionality of a facility security officer. And today we want to list the main competencies and standards of duties of a facility security officer.
The responsibilities of a security guard include:
- verification of documents and passes of persons passing to the protected facility or leaving the facility;
- carrying out inspection (examination) of things in accordance with the established procedure, detention (prevention of passage) of violators of the access control, as well as persons trying to illegally export-import (carry-out-bring in) equipment, inventory items or weapons, ammunition, explosive devices, explosives , other means of terror;
- control over the operation of security, fire and alarm devices installed at the checkpoint;
- notification of an alarm to the immediate supervisor, the dispatcher of the enterprise, and, if necessary, to the security unit, the internal affairs body, the fire brigade;
- taking measures to detain (within the established powers) offenders;
- taking measures to eliminate the accident in accordance with the job description;
- participation in the elimination of fire, prevention of the threat of explosion;
- acceptance under protection from materially responsible persons of premises for the storage of material assets included in the protection zone of the post.
The security guard must know:
- guidance documents that determine the organization of access control at a protected facility;
- rules of intra-object mode;
- the structure of the enterprise and the mode of operation of its divisions;
- samples of various types of passes, waybills, signatures of officials who have the right to give orders to enter the protected area of certain categories of workers who are granted the right to enter on departmental service certificates;
- the procedure for passing emergency teams in case of natural disasters, fires, accidents and other emergencies;
- rules for inspection (examination) of things, as well as checks of exported (imported) cargo;
- places of possible concealment and signs of means of terror in road transport and hand luggage when implementing the tasks of the access control;
- rules for the use of technical means for detecting explosives, weapons, ammunition, security and fire alarm systems;
- the procedure for the detention of offenders and registration of detention materials for them (within the established competence);
- rules of safety and industrial sanitation;
- rules for the use of personal protective equipment;
- the location of primary fire extinguishing and communication equipment, the procedure for using them;
- know the vulnerable technological objects in the protected area, the failure of which can lead to an emergency.
