Inaugurating a stela at Fisht Stadium in Sochi

Sochi’s Fisht Stadium inaugurated a stela in celebration of forthcoming games of FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 World Cup. The ceremony took place on Tuesday before the start of a Russia–Belgium friendly.

The stela is located at the balcony of B stand, right in front of the Olympic cauldron.

“This stadium saw the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and the Paralympic Games, and now it will be serving as a venue for football games. I am very glad that the arena is opened by our national team’s game with a very strong opponent – Belgium. We are planning to use this stadium actively in the future,” said Vitaly Mutko, Russian vice-premier and head of Russia-2018 Organizing Committee.

Pharaoh GC provided security for the ceremony.
