Ministerial photo exhibition in Moscow

Today State Secretary, Deputy Minister of the Interior Igor Zubov opened a photo exhibition called "The Soldiers of Law and Order in times of the Great Patriotic War".

Head of the Central Museum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Andrei Belodub gave the first tour of the exhibition for the guests. Pharaoh GC officers were also present at the event.

The exhibition tells about NKVD police officers and soldiers contributing to the Great Victory, about their heroism and love for the motherland. Visitors will be able to see with their own eyes what price our defenders had to pay for the victory.

In the first days of war one fourth of all the Soviet policemen were sent to the front. They fought courageously in battles for Brest, Minsk, Kiev, Kharkov, Odessa, Sevastopol, Tula, Moscow, Novgorod, Pskov, Leningrad, Stalingrad and other cities.

During the Great Patriotic War 58 divisions and 23 brigades of NKVD internal troops participated in hostilities, of which 10 divisions were involved in the liberation of Europe during the final period of war.

The items for the exhibition were selected in collaboration with the Central Museum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Museum of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Igor Zubov said that the exhibition is a small part of everything that has been done by the Ministry together with non-commercial and commercial organizations who care about what is going on in the country. He added that today the rebirth of history is a priority task and assured that memory of every veteran of war will be carefully preserved and imparted to the young generation.

Mr Zubov wished everybody all the best on Victory Day and assured the guests that the police keeps everything under control. The official added that the interests of the population are a top priority of the Ministry and that this year marked a significant growth of public trust to the police, which has been confirmed by the results of independent social research. He thanked all the citizens who help the police.

The exhibition is held in a pedestrian zone in Zhitnaya Street in Moscow. Until May 17th Muscovites and visitors to the capital will have a chance to see 80 unique photos of war years.
